President of the University of Mosul Congratulates Students on the Start of the New Academic Year

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
Dear students of the University of Mosul,
Welcome to a morning filled with hope and new beginnings. Today, I share with you a sense of excitement and responsibility, excitement for the new opportunity to learn and grow, and responsibility to work for knowledge, our country, and our community.
The university is not just about buildings and lecture halls, it is the home of knowledge and a field of refinement. Here, questions light up our minds, and here we learn how to research, analyze, and innovate. Make time for reading, attend lectures with the intention to understand, not just to be present, and always ask “why” and “how.” Passion for asking questions is the foundation of all progress.
I also remind you of the importance of preserving our noble university traditions and values, respect between students and professors, maintaining order in the classrooms and laboratories, and adhering to the values that unite us. These norms are not restrictions but a framework that allows knowledge to grow and flourish. Treat your peers with humanity, respect differing opinions, and build teams based on cooperation, not division.
Remember that university life is a holistic experience. Take care of your physical and mental health, engage in student activities, and involve yourselves in the community. True education is incomplete without participation and contribution.
Finally, make this year a page filled with both small and large accomplishments. Work sincerely, set an example in your behavior, and let the University of Mosul be a source of pride for you and for all of us. May Allah grant you success and guide your steps.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi
President of the University of Mosul
