Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayyat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, and Assistant Professor Dr. Basel Khalaf, Head of the Academics Syndicate for Nineveh, as well as under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Humam Ghanem Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Medicine, the Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine organized its annual activation seminar on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, under the theme: “The Horizons of Surgery: Between the Rigor of Science and the Creativity of Art.”

The seminar highlighted the role of surgery as a science based on solid and precise foundations, while also emphasizing its artistic aspects, which require creativity and skill. This aligns with the sustainable development goals to promote good health, inclusive and equitable education, and the building of effective partnerships.

The seminar included scientific lectures and practical demonstrations covering the latest surgical techniques and advancements in medical practice, with the participation of a select group of specialized professors and graduate students.
