Mosul University Conducts Trial Electoral Simulation to Promote Democratic Awareness

In the presence of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hasan Hamed, the Assistant of the President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, a trial electoral simulation was conducted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, within the university campus, organized by the Nineveh Elections Office.
The simulation was supervised by Mr. Farhan Al-Maamari, Director of the Nineveh Elections Office, and involved university staff, students, and employees from other departments in Nineveh. Its purpose was to test the voting machines, ensure their technical readiness, and train participants on electronic voting procedures, while promoting democratic awareness in preparation for the upcoming elections.
During the event, the University President emphasized the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and the Independent High Electoral Commission in spreading electoral culture and instilling democratic participation values among youth, reinforcing the university’s role in serving society and consolidating proper democratic practices.
