Women’s Affairs Unit at Mosul University Launches Tree Planting Campaign as Part of the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” Initiative

As part of initiatives launched by Mosul University’s Presidency to promote a sustainable university environment, the Women’s Affairs Unit organized a wide-scale tree planting campaign on Monday, October 27, 2025, under the initiative “Ghiras Al-Rahma” (Trees of Mercy). The goal of the campaign was to expand green spaces and enhance the aesthetic scene within the university campus.
The campaign was executed under the supervision of the Agricultural Unit in the Administrative Affairs Department, in collaboration with the Media and Governmental Communications Department. Dr. Afra’a Riyadh Mohammed, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, participated in the initiative, alongside staff members from the Women’s Affairs Unit and other university employees. The event involved planting a variety of saplings in different locations across the university, supporting efforts in afforestation and environmental improvement.
This campaign reflects Mosul University’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and social responsibility, translating its vision of creating a healthy, beautiful campus environment that is filled with generosity and inspires a spirit of volunteerism.
