Mosul University: New International Scientific Collaboration and Joint Work Opportunities with the French Development Agency (AFD)

In line with its commitment to expanding international engagement and establishing scientific and developmental partnerships, Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, welcomed a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, led by Mr. Charbel Barq, Director of the Agency. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, the Assistant of the President for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Aliya Abdulaziz, Director of the Medical Research Centers Management Council at the university.
The meeting featured productive discussions between both sides, focusing on the prospects for cooperation in scientific and research fields, as well as ways to enhance the research capabilities of the university’s scientific centers. The conversation also included joint proposals to strengthen technical and scientific support projects, particularly the research project on a linear accelerator for cancer treatment.
This meeting aligns with Mosul University’s efforts to expand its international relationships and open channels with global academic and developmental institutions, facilitating the exchange of expertise and benefiting from pioneering experiences in supporting scientific research and higher education, further solidifying the university’s position as a leading scientific center both nationally and internationally.
