Under the patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, and direct supervision of His Excellency Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, the grand national campaign for issuing the Unified National Card for the residents of Nineveh province was launched on Saturday, November 15, 2025. This initiative aims to simplify procedures for citizens, enabling them to obtain the official card quickly and with minimal effort.

Mosul University played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this national initiative. Under the direct supervision of University President Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the university provided logistical and human resources to support the project. This included the allocation of a large, air-conditioned hall to accommodate a significant number of applicants, as well as preparing all necessary materials such as office supplies, technical systems, and field organization to ensure smooth and efficient processing of applications. This reflects the university’s commitment to its social mission and its role in serving the people of Nineveh.

The campaign was attended by a wide range of official figures, led by Nineveh Governor, Legal Expert Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, who personally monitored the provision of necessary facilities for the success of the operation. Also present were Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Mamouri, Director General of the Unified National Card Department, and Brigadier General Hakam Daham Al-Habbo, Director of the Civil Status, Passports, and Residency Directorate in Nineveh, providing administrative and organizational support that enhanced the readiness of field teams and met the citizens’ needs.

Specially equipped areas were also set aside for serving individuals with disabilities, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring that everyone is included in this service, providing suitable conditions for completing their transactions smoothly.

This campaign is designed to serve the public interest and to ease the challenges citizens face in obtaining their official documents. By adopting streamlined procedures and an expanded team capable of efficiently handling large numbers of applicants, the initiative ensures that everyone can obtain their national card with ease and convenience.
