The College of Engineering at Mosul University, in collaboration with the Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychoactive Substances and the Department of Media and Government Communication, held an important awareness workshop on Sunday, November 16, titled “Drugs and Their Impact on Society and Ways to Prevent Them.” The event was attended by the Assistant of the Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with several department heads, faculty members, and students from the college, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote societal awareness and protect youth.

The workshop included an in-depth lecture that highlighted the serious health and psychological effects of drugs, and their negative role in weakening the abilities of young people and disrupting their academic progress. The session also discussed modern awareness methods and effective prevention strategies, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the role of family and student monitoring as the first line of defense.
