The College of Education for Girls Organizes an Awareness Workshop on the Dangers of Drugs and Domestic Violence

The University Counseling and Psychological Guidance Department at the College of Education for Girls at Mosul University organized an informative workshop on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, aimed at students as well as faculty and administrative staff. The workshop, titled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse and Its Relation to Domestic Violence,” was held as part of the Iraqi Week for Combating Drugs.
The workshop included a series of lectures that addressed the topic from health, familial, and economic perspectives. Topics covered included the health effects of drug abuse from an Islamic viewpoint, the transition from addiction to violence, how drug abuse destroys family and psychological security, and a discussion on the relationship between drugs and domestic violence as a significant obstacle to sustainable economic development.
This event is part of Mosul University’s commitment to enhancing community awareness and highlighting the devastating effects of drug abuse, particularly its impact on family security and societal stability. The initiative contributes to building an informed campus environment that is capable of addressing these negative phenomena.
