Mosul University Welcomes a Delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to Follow Up on the Work of the Dormitories

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Mosul University hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Directorate, headed by Mr. Bassam Karim Zidan, Director General of the Dormitories Department, and his accompanying team. They were received by Dr. Haitham Hashem Al-Khafaf, Director of the Dormitory Affairs Department at Mosul University.

This visit is part of the Ministry’s plan to monitor the quality of services and procedures provided to students residing in university dormitories across Iraq, as well as to directly assess the administrative and service organization within these facilities.

During the inspection tour, the delegation conducted a thorough review of the operations within the dormitories, including the verification of attendance and absence records, the organization of housing and residency arrangements, as well as the review of administrative discipline and student monitoring procedures. The delegation also examined the available services within the dormitories, including the canteen, health, and service facilities, to assess their readiness and compliance with the ministry’s established standards, ensuring a safe and comprehensive residential environment for students.

The visit also included a detailed briefing by the dormitory management on the programs and plans in place to improve services and enhance the infrastructure of student housing. Additionally, discussions were held about the major challenges faced by students and the administration and ways to address these challenges to provide the best possible care and comfort for students.

This visit embodies the commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Mosul University to enhance quality, transparency, and the overall improvement of dormitory conditions, providing a stable living environment that supports students’ academic and personal growth and contributes to their academic success.
