University of Mosul Continues Its Scientific Programs to Combat Drug Addiction

 

As part of its ongoing efforts to leverage its academic and educational resources to protect students from the scourge of drug addiction, the University Counseling Department, in collaboration with the Recovery Organization, organized an awareness workshop titled “The Risks of Drug Addiction”, attended by faculty members, staff, and students.

The workshop included awareness lectures presented by Mr. Burhan Bader Ibrahim, a representative of the Recovery Organization, Mr. Falah Mahdi Saleh from the Nineveh Drug Control Directorate, and Assistant Lecturer Faten Mohamed Zaki from the University Counseling Department. The discussions focused on defining addiction, its risks, and causes, as well as presenting the most important treatment programs and strategies to reduce its spread among youth.

The workshop emphasized the severity of this phenomenon and its direct impact on students and society, calling for the collaboration of institutional and community efforts to prevent its escalation and raise preventive awareness to protect the university generation and ensure a healthy and safe educational environment.
