The College of Fine Arts at the University of Mosul welcomed the French Consul General in Mosul, Mr. Fabrice Deblechin, on Thursday, 4 December 2025, during an official visit aimed at enhancing cultural and artistic cooperation. He was received by the Dean of the College, Prof. Hamed Al-Rashidi, along with several department heads, and was briefed on the college’s academic programs, laboratories, art workshops, and the experimental theater. The Consul also learned about the college’s efforts to support student creativity and develop artistic skills among university youth.

Mr. Deblechin expressed his appreciation for the scientific and professional standards upheld by the college, noting the French side’s interest in strengthening academic partnerships and exchanging expertise with French universities in ways that support arts programs and empower students. The visit comes as part of the University of Mosul’s broader strategy to expand international engagement and foster collaborations that enhance the quality of higher education and enrich the cultural and artistic environment on campus.
