Humanitarian Initiative by the Pediatric, Orthodontics, and Preventive Dentistry Branch at the College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul

As part of the University of Mosul’s activities marking the International Human Rights Day and the International Volunteer Day and with the aim of promoting human rights and supporting various community groups. A team from the Pediatric, Orthodontics, and Preventive Dentistry Branch carried out a field visit to the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in Nineveh.
The visit included assessing the health conditions of the residents, conducting preliminary examinations, and delivering simple educational guidance on oral and dental health care. These efforts aimed to enhance health awareness and empower the juveniles to adopt preventive behaviors that contribute to maintaining their overall well-being.
The team also met with the center’s administration to discuss the key health and social challenges faced by the residents, reaffirming the University of Mosul and the College of Dentistry’s commitment to supporting this group and providing services and initiatives that reflect the university’s role in serving the community.
The Deanery of the College of Dentistry extends its sincere appreciation to the administration of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center for their warm reception and fruitful cooperation, which significantly contributed to the success of this humanitarian initiative. The deanery also commends the efforts of the center’s staff for facilitating examinations and providing the necessary information.
This constructive collaboration embodies the spirit of integration between educational institutions and rehabilitation centers and strengthens joint efforts to serve the public good and uphold human rights principles.
