A Scientific Workshop at the University of Mosul Discusses the Legal Framework for Minority Rights in Iraq

The College of Arts at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Human Rights Division in Nineveh, the Studies and Planning Department at the University Presidency, and the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh, organized a specialized scientific workshop on Sunday, December 14, 2025, titled “Minority Rights in Iraqi Law.” The workshop deeply explored the national and international legal frameworks that guarantee the rights of minorities, focusing on related Iraqi legislation, protection mechanisms, and how to activate these rights.
This workshop is part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing efforts to fulfill its academic and enlightening role in supporting specialized legal studies and enhancing legal awareness. It underscores the university’s commitment to reinforcing the principles of justice, equal citizenship, and the protection of human rights for all components of Iraqi society, contributing to community peace and the creation of an environment based on mutual understanding and stability.
