The College of Political Science Organizes a Scientific Seminar on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its Role in Promoting Justice and Equality

 

Coinciding with the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 16 related to peace, justice, and building strong institutions, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning and the Human Rights Unit at the University Presidency, held a scientific seminar titled “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its Role in Promoting Justice and Equality” on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The seminar discussed several scientific topics, including the impact of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on building societies, the role of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in supporting its path, and an analytical review of related national strategies. It also examined the extent to which political systems adhere to these principles. Furthermore, the seminar explored the legal framework of the Universal Declaration and its role in promoting justice through the interaction of international law with countries, and its impact on reinforcing equality in the fields of education and employment. The seminar emphasized the University of Mosul’s commitment to establishing the foundations of justice and equality through scientific research and relevant specializations.
