The University Counseling Department at the College of Archaeology, in coordination with the Department of Media and Government Communication, and in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning and the Nineveh Anti-Drugs Office, organized an awareness workshop titled “With Knowledge, We Eradicate Drugs” on Monday, December 15, 2025. The workshop, led by Mr. Falah Mahdi, Media Director of the Nineveh Anti-Drug Office, aimed to highlight the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on individuals and society.

The workshop addressed the various types of drugs and their promotion methods, the health, psychological, and social damages caused by addiction, as well as discussing methods for prevention, treatment, and combating drug use. It also provided an overview of the legal frameworks and penalties related to drug control in Iraq, stressing the importance of cooperation between security institutions and society. This initiative is part of the University of Mosul’s efforts to raise awareness and build a university environment capable of addressing this serious issue.
