University of Mosul Strives, in Collaborative Steps with Relevant Institutions, to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals

 

In an effort to instill environmental awareness within the academic community, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Nineveh Directorate of Environment, organized a scientific seminar titled “Sustainable Development” on Thursday, December 12, 2025. The event was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students.

The seminar began with a lecture that addressed the comprehensive concept of sustainable development, its significance in balancing economic development requirements, environmental preservation, and ensuring social justice for both current and future generations. The discussion highlighted the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability, emphasizing the vital role of educational and academic institutions in promoting environmental culture and encouraging positive behaviours towards the environment. The seminar concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of maintaining such scientific events and strengthening partnerships between the university and community institutions to create a sustainable, pollution-free environment.
