The University of Mosul participated in the dialogue workshop organized by the High Committee for Implementing the Strategy to Combat Violent Extremism, titled “Countering Extremism Online,” under the patronage of the National Security Advisor’s Office and supported by the European Union Mission in Iraq. The workshop was held at the Ramada Hotel from January 7–8, 2026.

The workshop was attended by the vice presidents of ten universities in Nineveh Governorate, along with the subcommittee for combating violent extremism in Nineveh, and participated by several international and local organizations. The discussions focused on ways to combat extremist rhetoric in the digital space, emphasizing the role of academic institutions in raising awareness and building moderate discourse that contributes to promoting social peace.
