In Support of Solidarity Values: The College of Medicine at the University of Mosul Commemorates the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty with Field Initiatives

On the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, and as part of activating the societal role of academic institutions, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Medicine, in collaboration with the Voluntary Work Committee and coordinated with the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, organized a field visit that included the Elderly Home, Dar Al-Zohour, and Dar Al-Baraem for Orphans. This initiative aimed to reinforce the college and university’s ongoing efforts to promote values of social solidarity.
The visits included distributing food baskets and closely observing the residents’ conditions, needs, and the challenges they face, with the immediate provision of solutions to potential problems. The specialized team also offered educational guidance on human rights entitled to these groups, in addition to conducting medical examinations and providing direct medical assistance to patients by specialized medical staff. This initiative reflected a commendable image of voluntary work that combines healthcare with humanitarian responsibility.
