Violent Extremism: The Hidden Enemy of the University Student’s Future

The University of Mosul’s Psychological Counseling Department hosted an event on Thursday, February 12, 2026, to mark the International Day for Countering Violent Extremism. The event was attended by representatives from the university’s colleges, the National Security Agency, and the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces. It included a theatrical performance on social cohesion and research papers addressing the rejection of extremism and the enhancement of community bonds.
The event emphasized the university’s role in raising awareness among students about the dangers of extremist ideologies, offering intellectual and psychological support to help build an aware and responsible generation that contributes to the stability of society.
