Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, inaugurated the Department of Computer Science at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the presence of Dr. Ali Mohammed Amneef Al-Rifaie, Professor of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, and Professor Dr. Doha Basheer Abdullah, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics.

The department was reopened in a renewed and distinguished form, standing as a symbol of resilience in the face of destruction and rising once again with an advanced academic environment that meets students’ needs, keeps pace with technological and scientific developments, and fulfills its objectives of preparing competent graduates capable of contributing to the service of the nation.
