Dr. Basim Mohammed Mahmood and Dr. Zuhair Qais Ibrahim participated in the ARCHIVING 2026 Conference, held at Harvard University in Boston, USA, in a distinguished scientific participation that reflects the presence of the University of Mosul at one of the world’s most prestigious universities and a leading institution in the Shanghai Ranking.

The participation included the presentation of three research papers addressing the use of artificial intelligence in archiving and preserving cultural heritage, developing more efficient methods for visualizing large photogrammetry models, and improving illumination uniformity in archaeology-related images using advanced fuzzy algorithms. The papers were entitled:

“Networked AI Framework for Systemic Cultural Heritage Archiving and Preservation”

“Variable-Axes Topographical Maps: A Compute-Efficient Alternative for Visualizing Large Photogrammetry Models”

“Improving Illumination Uniformity for Archaeology-Related Images Using a Refined Type-II Fuzzy Algorithm”

These research papers came within the framework of scientific cooperation between the University of Mosul and Brandenburg University in Germany, strengthening the University’s research standing and affirming its ability to contribute to contemporary scientific issues at major international forums.
