The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The impact of the new global economy on the economic growth of Arab countries for the period (1990-2020)”.
Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thair Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The current study presented by the student “Aref Katyan Matar” in the Department of Economics aimed to identify this system, developments and changes in it, and the extent of its impact on improving the standard of living and increasing the economic growth of the countries of the study sample over the past three decades, and the standard analysis of the sample countries was used, and time series data were relied on to estimate the phenomenon under study.

The study concluded several conclusions, the most important of which are: that the current international transformations have posed a number of challenges to the developing country, the most important of which is the phenomenon of foreign interference in its economic, financial and international policies through the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization, as well as the inability of developing countries to manage their basic resources, which limits their ability to assume their responsibilities towards their citizens.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Mahdi Saleh Dawai from the University of Diyala, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Saad Mahmoud Al-Kawaz, and Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Rabah Jamil Saad El-Din.
