PhD thesis in the Department of Industrial Management Discusses Smart Systems and Their Impact on Sustainable Performance: Testing the Mediating Role of Quick Response Manufacturing / An Exploratory Study in the General Company for Electrical and Electronic Industries Sunday, May 4, 2025

The Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed a PhD thesis titled:
“Smart Systems and Their Impact on Sustainable Performance: Testing the Mediating Role of Quick Response Manufacturing / An Exploratory Study in the General Company for Electrical and Electronic Industries.”

The study, submitted by the doctoral candidate Lamia Mohammed Jassim from the Department of Industrial Management, aimed to:
Explore the availability of the study variables (smart systems, quick response manufacturing, and sustainable performance) and understand their current status within the company under study. The research sought to bridge the knowledge gap in explaining the nature of the relationship between these variables. This was done by analyzing the nature of their interrelations through surveying the opinions of a group of employees in the General Company for Electrical and Electronic Industries.

The study reached several scientific conclusions, including:

Certain dimensions of smart systems are present in the company under study, with the dimension of anticipated benefit being the most prevalent among other sub-dimensions.

Regarding quick response manufacturing, its dimensions are also available within the company, with organizational structure being the most prominent among the sub-dimensions.

As for sustainable performance, its dimensions are present in the company, with social performance being more prevalent compared to environmental and economic performance.
