The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Activates Its Industrial Advisory Council to Align Curricula with Labor Market Requirements

In line with ministerial instructions and under the guidance of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and within the framework of updating academic curricula, aligning them with labor market requirements, and strengthening institutional partnerships between the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul and public and private sector institutions, the first meeting of the College’s Industrial Advisory Council was held on the morning of Wednesday, 7 January 2026.
The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, and attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khaled, along with the members of the Industrial Advisory Council, which includes the heads of the College’s academic departments, in addition to the participation of a number of directors of public sector institutions and representatives of private sector companies.
During its first session, the Council discussed several key issues, foremost among them the College’s academic outputs and their alignment with labor market needs, as well as ways to develop academic programs that contribute to preparing graduates who possess the required scientific competence and practical experience, and who are capable of effective integration into the work environment.
The participants emphasized the importance of continuing the meetings of the Industrial Advisory Council in order to formulate practical visions and recommendations that serve the College in particular and enhance the role of the University of Mosul in supporting economic development and the labor market at both the local and national levels.
