Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research (C.AFCAR) Participates in the Launch of the First “Khairat Nineveh” Agricultural Festival.

The first “Khairat Nineveh Festival for Agricultural, Livestock, and Food Products” commenced on the morning of Wednesday, 21 October 2026, at the Directorate of Agriculture in Nineveh. The two-day festival brought together a wide range of research and production institutions, as well as agricultural associations from across the governorate.

The AFCAR Center had a prominent presence at the festival, reflecting its leading role in developing the agricultural sector in arid and semi-arid regions and promoting sustainable development strategies suited to the climatic conditions of Nineveh Governorate.

The Center’s pavilion attracted considerable interest from visitors, local officials, researchers, and farmers interested in advancing agricultural production techniques. Furthermore, the Center’s experts and researchers provided detailed explanations to official delegations and farmers about the importance of adopting modern water-harvesting technologies and developing plant varieties capable of tolerating water scarcity and water stress.

This participation aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 13 (Climate Action), Goal 15 (Life on Land), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
