The Department of Agricultural Mechanization Technologies at the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s Conducts Periodic Maintenance on Specialized Seeders.
Under the supervision of the Head of Agri. Mechanization Technologies Department, Dr. Mahmood Awad Hussein, the department’s Agri. Engineers carried out a comprehensive maintenance and final preparation for the specialized seeders on Wednesday, 19 November 2025. This initiative is in preparation for their field use during the upcoming winter season.
These measures are part of the Center’s broader plan to enhance the efficiency of agricultural equipment and ensure its sustainable use. This aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 2, which focuses on “Zero Hunger” and achieving food security by supporting agricultural production and improving field practices.
Periodic maintenance increases machinery readiness and reduces field breakdowns, thereby enhancing the ability of researchers and farmers to conduct agricultural experiments with high efficiency. This reflects the Center’s commitment to developing sustainable agriculture in Nineveh Governorate specifically, and in Iraq.
