The University’s endeavor to meet international standards and to refield is crowned by the achieving of a UNESCO chair. The importance of the chair derives from the UNITWIN Program that qualifies for a more effective role in areas of education and its interrelations with societal peace, public opinion, research and policy-making. According to the UNESCO, the Program aims to “promote international inter-university cooperation and networking to enhance institutional capacities through knowledge sharing and collaborative work.”It is worthwhile that the title of the chair achieved is ‘Preventing Violent Extremism and Fostering a Culture of Peace,’ which reflects the immense efforts the University exerted and is still exerting toward this end.
