The College of Science Organizes a Specialized Scientific Course on the Pathway of Sulfur Dioxide Emissions

In an effort to preserve the environment and human health, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science held a specialized scientific course titled “The Pathway of Sulfur Dioxide Emissions on Air Quality and Health Towards a Green Environment,” from January 11, 2025, for a duration of five days. This initiative is part of the college’s efforts to enhance scientific capabilities and raise awareness about environmental and health issues related to modern chemistry.

The course aims to highlight one of the most significant air pollutants, sulfur dioxide (SO₂), by discussing its sources, effects on human health, and the environment. It also showcases modern scientific methods to reduce its risks, as part of the chemistry department’s scientific program aimed at keeping up with scientific advancements. Additionally, the course emphasizes the university’s role in serving the community and the environment by promoting scientific culture and reinforcing the principles and goals of sustainable development, including quality education and the preservation of health and the environment.
