Launch of a Specialized Workshop on Erasmus+ Programs at the University of Mosul to Strengthen the Capacities of Iraqi Universities

On Monday morning, January 19, 2026, the University of Mosul hosted a specialized workshop at its Scientific and Literary Forum on “Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE, ICM, Jean Monnet)” under the Erasmus+ programs framework.
The workshop, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was organized in cooperation with the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Directorate at the ministry and the European Union Delegation in Iraq, which is funding this activity. The workshop, running from January 19 to 21, targets both public and private universities in the Ninawa, Salah al-Din, and Kirkuk provinces.
The primary objective of the workshop is to build the institutional capacities of the participating Iraqi universities and provide them with the necessary technical assistance to understand the application mechanisms for the various Erasmus+ programs and maximize their academic outputs. The workshop also aims to deepen communication and exchange experiences while keeping pace with developments in European Union programs, thereby contributing to the advancement of Iraqi higher education and enhancing the participation and engagement of universities with international opportunities.
This project is being implemented by DAI and features expert trainers delivering lectures throughout the event.
The workshop sessions will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, following an intensive curriculum that covers various aspects of application and project management under the European program.
