Bash Tabia Rises Again… A Historic Initiative by the University of Mosul Revives the Spirit of the City

 

In a historic step, the University of Mosul has announced a national initiative aimed at restoring and revitalizing the historic Bash Tabia Castle, one of Mosul’s most iconic symbols of resilience.

The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, revealed that the university, through its Engineering Consultancy Office, will undertake the preparation of a comprehensive feasibility study for the project entirely free of charge, in addition to providing full technical supervision throughout all implementation phases, in cooperation with the Nineveh Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate.

This initiative represents a heartfelt message of loyalty and commitment to the people of Mosul, ensuring that this historic landmark—often regarded as a guardian of the city—rises once again with strength and dignity. The project will be carried out according to the highest scientific and archaeological standards, reflecting the dedication of local expertise in preserving the city’s cultural heritage.
