President of the University of Mosul Chairs the 13th Council Meeting for the Academic Year 2025–2026

The Council of the University of Mosul held its 13th session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, chaired by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, with the attendance of all council members.
The session addressed several important academic and administrative matters, with scientific promotions topping the agenda, including the review of promotion cases for a number of faculty members and the reformation of certain promotion committees to enhance academic efficiency.
In the postgraduate studies section, the council discussed requests for extensions for a number of students, taking into consideration their academic circumstances, while it approved the reduction of tuition fees for a number of undergraduate students, in a step that reflects the university’s commitment to supporting its students and alleviating their burdens.
The meeting discussed the renewal of memberships for boards of some consultancy offices and mechanisms for cooperation, ensuring optimal utilization of their expertise within legal frameworks to serve both the university and society.
The council also addressed the extension of service for some faculty members, the granting of the title of Professor Emeritus, and several other issues related to the progress of academic, research, and administrative processes.
This meeting reflects the university’s ongoing efforts to foster a distinguished and academically robust environment.
