For a Sustainable Environment… University of Mosul Affirms Its Scientific and Advisory Role in the Nineveh Green Belt Project

As part of its supportive approach toward the governorate’s development plans, the University of Mosul, through its Remote Sensing Center, participated in shaping the features of the city’s green belt during the first preliminary meeting held by the Nineveh Governorate / Urban Planning Directorate to discuss the project of establishing a green belt around the master plan of the city of Mosul, specifically within the southern and western boundaries of the governorate’s master plan map.
The university will contribute through the use of modern technologies and remote sensing data to identify suitable locations, in a way that supports the expansion of green spaces, combats desertification, and improves the city’s environmental conditions.
This academic presence further strengthens the university’s scientific standing and reflects its commitment to providing the governorate and its institutions with reliable expertise toward a future that is greener, more organized, and more beautiful.
