Holding a Lecture Entitled: “From Idea to Project… The Role of the Entrepreneurship Unit in Empowering Students”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Assist. Prof. Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Rajeh Mahmoud, the Entrepreneurship Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a scientific lecture entitled “From Idea to Project… The Role of the Entrepreneurship Unit in Empowering Students.” The lecture was held on the occasion of the National Entrepreneurship Day, as part of a series of activities aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
The lecture addressed the fundamental stages of transforming creative ideas into feasible projects. It covered key aspects beginning with problem identification and idea formulation, followed by preliminary feasibility assessment, and concluding with mechanisms for prototype development, marketing strategies, and sustainability planning. The lecture also highlighted the pivotal role played by the Entrepreneurship Unit in supporting students through academic mentoring, specialized workshops, and the establishment of partnerships with relevant sectors.
Furthermore, the lecture emphasized the importance of empowering students with entrepreneurial thinking skills, teamwork, and project management competencies, thereby contributing to the preparation of graduates capable of creating job opportunities and actively contributing to community development.
The event witnessed notable engagement from the attendees, as numerous questions and interventions were raised, reflecting students’ strong interest in developing their ideas and transforming them into practical projects with the support of the Entrepreneurship Unit.
At the conclusion of the lecture, the Unit’s administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the implementation of programs and activities that foster an innovation-driven environment within the College, in alignment with the institution’s vision to support creativity and academic excellence.
