College of Dentistry Completes Treatment of Nursing Home Residents and Supports the Production of Persons with Disabilities within the “Rahma Wasila” Initiative

Within the framework of the “Rahma Wasila” initiative launched by the University of Mosul on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and under the direct patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, the College continued the implementation of its humanitarian voluntary program through a field visit to a nursing home.
This initiative was carried out by the Human Rights Unit, the Volunteer Work Unit, and the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College. The visit, which took place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and was conducted by faculty members and students, included the completion of dental treatments for the residents through the provision of extraction and restorative (filling) services. In addition, thirty (30) sets of dentures were delivered, marking a qualitative step aimed at improving the residents’ oral health-related quality of life and bringing joy to their hearts.
The initiative also included a humanitarian component in support of persons with disabilities, whereby the production of disposable medical sheets manufactured by individuals with disabilities was supported through the purchase of one hundred (100) pieces, which were then donated to the nursing home. This initiative reflects the spirit of social solidarity and supports the productive capacities of this important segment of society.
Through these activities, the College of Dentistry reaffirms its commitment to its societal and humanitarian role, its dedication to promoting a culture of volunteerism, and its efforts to strengthen the values of compassion and cooperation, in line with the University’s mission to serve the community.
