On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop entitled: “Intellectual Property in the Business and Innovation Environment”, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Khalid Ismail, with the attendance of a number of faculty members, postgraduate students, and staff.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and their pivotal role in fostering innovation and encouraging scientific research, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and the establishment of a knowledge- and creativity-based academic environment.

The workshop addressed several key themes, most notably the concept of intellectual property and its various types, mechanisms for its protection, as well as a review of practical applications of intellectual property rights in academic and research fields.

This activity comes as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable development pathways, particularly Goals (4, 9, 11, and 17), through promoting scientific awareness and strengthening a culture of innovation among students, researchers, and administrative staff.
