Master’s Thesis Discussion at the College of Dentistry on Regenerative Endodontic Therapy

The Department of Conservative Dentistry at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, witnessed on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, the discussion of the master’s thesis entitled: “The Therapeutic Potential of TGF-β1 in Pulpotomy: Its Impact on Healing and Prognosis”

The thesis, submitted by the student Saleh Ali Mohsen, aimed to evaluate and investigate Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) following the incorporation of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-β1), as well as to determine the impact of these additives on its biological properties using an in vitro experimental model.

The findings demonstrated that integrating hyaluronic acid with the growth factor (TGF-β1) within the MTA matrix produces a synergistic biological interaction that enhances the microenvironment of the dental pulp. This contributes to improved matrix hydration and growth factor stability, thereby accelerating tissue healing, angiogenesis, and regeneration of the pulp-dentin complex.

The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Najwan Fadhil Shihab, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Shakir Hassan and Assistant Professor Saif Nathim Hason. The thesis was supervised and co-examined by Professor Dr. Nadia Hamid Hassan and Professor Dr. Faihaa Azhar Mohi Al-Din.

The thesis was accepted following the completion of the required revisions.
