The First Meeting of the Advisory Council for the Academic Year 2023–2024

With the completion of the requirements for implementing the Bologna process in  Department of Computer Engineering, including the curriculum guide and syllabus, the advisory council of the department convened. It was attended by four members from relevant Directorates at Ninawa and three members from the department, whose signatures are recorded at the end of the minutes. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed curriculum and syllabus for this track, and the following suggestions were made:

  • Coordination to take field visits to students to important projects under the achievement of the official institution for the actual reality and exchange of experiences to enhance the practical aspect of the student and try to link it with theoretical study
  • Increase educational lectures, workshops and, educational courses evaluated by the Faculty of Engineering represented by the Computer Department for the employees of State institutions to increase their scientific potential and take advantage of the academic experiences available at the university
  • Pay attention to applied decisions that develop student capabilities and add their accumulated experience through increasing hours of practical courses.
  • Organizing scientific exhibition of the academic achievements of the students of the department of Computer in the relevant official and semi-official institutions for continuous knowledge of these achievements and directing moral support to students through continuous discussion and meetings with them in order to develop and enrich their information.
  • Within the comprehensive national campaign to achieve sustainable development in various sectors and fields, the council points to the importance of this aspect in the field of engineering work, starting with the academic institution that paves the way for the implementation of this concept, passing through the official institutions after graduation, and ending with a real test field in the workplace

The above suggestions were made based on the insights of the experts in the council, who work in various departments within the province. It is worth noting that most of them are actively involved in these departments, and the council believes that the above suggestions aim to improve the department’s outcomes to meet the expectations of these departments and relevant stakeholders, as well as the job market.
