Department of Mechanical Engineering Receives an Academic Delegation from Urmia University of Technology – Iran

As part of activating memoranda of understanding with international universities and enhancing academic cooperation, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering – University of Mosul received on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, the visiting professor to the Department of Mining Engineering at the College of Petroleum Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Rasheed Raheemullah, Head of the Mining Engineering Department at the College of Mining Engineering – Urmia University of Technology, Islamic Republic of Iran.
Dr. Rasheed was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Ezzedine Saleh Al-Jawadi, Head of the Mining Engineering Department at the University of Mosul, along with several faculty members from the department, in a scientific visit aimed at strengthening scientific and research cooperation between the two sides.
The visiting delegation was received by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoun, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Lecturer Mr. Qais Hazem, Department Coordinator, and Lecturer Mr. Ahmed Saadoon, Head of the Mechanical Workshop.
The visit included a tour of the department’s facilities and the mechanical workshop, in addition to discussions on several key topics related to joint academic programs and ways to develop engineering laboratories to enhance the quality of education and practical training.
Dr. Rasheed Raheemullah also attended a scientific thesis defense for postgraduate students in the department, where he praised the academic and research level. He was also briefed on the postgraduate programs and the department’s research plans, expressing his interest in exploring opportunities for joint supervision and academic exchange.
This visit comes as part of a series of activities aimed at building bridges of communication with regional and international academic institutions, contributing to the development of scientific and research capabilities for both parties.
