Research Selection for a Faculty Member at Department  of Computer Engineering among the Most Downloaded Papers of 2023

The research paper titled “Energy‐efficient routing protocol developed for Internet of Things networks”, published in IET Quantum Communication, by Professor Dr. Salah Abdulghani Al-Abbadi (Head of the Computer Engineering Department), has been selected among the most downloaded research papers of 2023, according to data from the global publishing house Wiley.

This achievement is a result of continued efforts in research and reflects the quality and prestige of the research produced within the department.

The paper discusses the use of a clustering-based technique to reduce the communication distance between sensor nodes, with a focus on cluster-based routing protocol categories. The Calinski-Harabasz method was employed to determine the optimal number of clusters, while optimizing the Improved Energy-Efficient PEGASIS-Based Protocol (IEEPB) to achieve the main objective.
