Scientific Research Published in the Field of Water Resources Engineering
A scientific research paper in the field of Water Resources Engineering has been published entitled “Morphological Changes in the Tigris River Due to Al-Kut Barrage: A Comprehensive Analysis”.
The study was conducted by a Ph.D. student at USM University / Malaysia , under the supervision of Dr. Nuridah Sabtu from USM and Dr. Ziyad Ayoub Suleiman, a faculty member in Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering, College of Engineering – University of Mosul.
The research addresses the morphological changes occurring in the Tigris River downstream of the Al-Kut Barrage, caused by sediment accumulation upstream and downstream of the structure. It also proposes practical solutions to ensure the long-term sustainability of the barrage.
The paper was published on May 7, 2025, in the journal Natural Hazards, which is indexed in Clarivate (IF = 3.3) and Scopus (CiteScore = 4.5), and is ranked in Quartile 1 (Q1).
