A Faculty Member from Department of Electrical Engineering Participates in a Ministerial Committee Visit to the University of Tikrit

As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to develop postgraduate programs in Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Shamil Hamza Hussein, a faculty member in Department of Electrical Engineering at College of Engineering – University of Mosul, participated in the activities of the ministerial committee assigned to visit University of Tikrit to assess the readiness of College of Engineering / Department of Electrical Engineering to launch a PhD program in the field.

During the field visit, the committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the infrastructure and educational and service facilities, including lecture halls, scientific laboratories, the central library, and postgraduate thesis defense rooms. The evaluation also covered the specialized academic staff, in accordance with the regulations and guidelines approved by the Ministry.

The committee was received by Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Mahmoud Raouf, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Ghalib Rashid, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; and Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Khalil Saleh, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the college administration and the staff of Department of Electrical Engineering. They also conveyed a positive impression regarding the available capabilities and ongoing preparations. Furthermore, the committee affirmed its support for the college’s initiative to open new horizons in postgraduate programs, contributing to the enhancement of the academic and research standards at the University of Tikrit.
