Joint Meeting Between College of Engineering and Nineveh Water Directorate

As part of its pioneering role in serving the community and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with service institutions, Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering at College of Engineering – University of Mosul hosted an extensive meeting with the technical committee assigned by Nineveh Water Directorate.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, to discuss the technical challenges facing the water sector in Nineveh province and to explore ways of providing the necessary technical and scientific support.

The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably:

The decrease in the water level of Tigris River and its impact on the Left Side Water Project
-
The significant losses within the water distribution network in Mosul city, which result in considerable water waste and necessitate urgent scientific and practical solutions
This meeting comes as part of the college’s efforts to activate its societal role by preparing a comprehensive scientific study that diagnoses the current water situation in Nineveh province and proposes applicable technical solutions. These efforts aim to enhance the efficiency of the water system and improve the services provided to citizens in Nineveh province.
