We aspire for the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering to become a local and regional leader in research and education in sustainable energy fields, tailored to the conditions and resources of the local environment. Our goal is to achieve excellence in the development and application of modern technologies for the clean and efficient generation and use of energy.

We believe that sustainable energy is key to addressing future challenges related to sustainable development and environmental protection. Therefore, we aim to graduate generations of engineers and researchers specialized in sustainable energy engineering, equipped with the knowledge and skills to develop and implement innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable development both locally and globally.

We also strive to become a leading center for research and innovation in sustainable energy fields, working to develop new and innovative technologies and disseminating the results for a positive impact on energy and environmental industries.

The Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering strives to meet the needs of Iraqi society and the region by offering high-quality programs in sustainable energy engineering through education, scientific research, and community service.

• Preparing graduates for career opportunities in design, development, and project management: The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively participate in design, development, and project management within engineering fields.
• Promoting creative and ethical values: The program emphasizes the development of creative and ethical values in engineering, encouraging students to think innovatively and make sustainable, ethically sound decisions.
• Contributing to the development of a continuous learning environment: The program seeks to contribute to the development of a continuous learning environment by providing updated educational materials and practical applications that meet market needs.
• Responding to engineering needs in the local market: The program aims to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills required to meet the demands of the local market, based on specific technical and economic factors.

Objectives :

• The department aims to offer excellent educational programs in sustainable energy engineering at the undergraduate level, leading to the graduation of strong engineering cadres capable of self-development and providing technical support to the government and private sector in their projects and engineering needs.
• The department contributes to promoting research and innovation in sustainable energy fields by supporting faculty members and researchers in developing innovative research projects. Additionally, it participates in enhancing the specialization level of engineering cadres in government departments and projects through continuous education courses, organized in collaboration with the college or directly by the department.
• The department aims to raise and enhance awareness of the importance of sustainable energy and contribute to its achievement through educational programs, social activities, and outreach.
• The department strives to equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop and implement sustainable energy projects and contribute to the energy-related workforce.
