A Brief Overview of the Industrial Advisory Council for Department of Computer Engineering :
Department of Computer Engineering has established an Industrial Advisory Council composed of distinguished professionals from both governmental and private sectors within Nineveh Governorate. The board includes seven members: experts from diverse fields such as telecommunications, aviation, non-governmental organizations, and academia, including faculty from the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Mosul.
The Council convenes at least once per academic semester to review the program’s educational objectives, assess graduate outcomes, and offer strategic recommendations for curriculum enhancement. These meetings serve as a critical platform to ensure that the department remains aligned with the dynamic demands of the labor market and advances in the computing industry.
The Department places strong emphasis on consulting with the Advisory Board to promote continuous improvement of the curriculum, ensure relevance of educational content, and refine the technical articulation of the program’s goals. The board’s contributions play a pivotal role in shaping a modern and competitive academic program that meets industry standards.
In addition to curriculum development, the department collaborates with board members to foster partnerships with governmental bodies, industry experts, and NGOs. Through workshops, seminars, and knowledge-sharing sessions, students gain valuable exposure to practical experiences, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.
