Department in Brief – Art Education

In 2005, the Department of Fine Arts Education was established, focusing on utilizing art in education, both in theater and visual arts. The department’s objectives, set since its establishment, include practicing artistic activities, cultivating aesthetic appreciation, achieving educational goals, assisting in understanding the language and role of art in society, changing students’ behavior through artistic practice, acquiring learning skills, empowering students to enhance their aesthetic environment, expressing themselves, and enjoying visual and auditory arts while freeing themselves from repressed emotions.

The Fine Arts Education Department curricula were designed to make all arts complementary and supplementary to the general educational process for every child in the school system. This transformation aims to create a humane environment where arts are valued as tools for learning, in addition to their intrinsic value. The curricula in the department combine visual and theatrical arts in similar proportions with relevant educational and adjacent subjects, all working together to create a comprehensive educational artist who practices, appreciates, studies, and contributes to developing students’ aesthetic tastes.
