From Waste to Life: Recycling Arts Festival at the College of Fine Arts

The College of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, held a recycling festival themed “Art: From Waste to Life” on Monday, November 17, 2025, as part of a full-day program.

The festival commenced with a speech by Professor Dr. Hamid Ibrahim Al-Rashidi, Dean of the College, at the Jalal Jamil Hall, in the presence of the Associate Deans, as well as several faculty members and students. This was followed by a short video presentation titled “Creativity Combining Environmental Awareness and Aesthetic Innovation.”

The festival featured an exhibition of handicrafts and recycled items made from various materials by the Department of Art Education, an exhibition of free-form applications in the Department of Plastic Arts, and the restoration of costumes and theatrical sets by the Department of Theatre Arts. Additionally, the event included the recycling of old paintings by both the Plastic Arts and Art Education departments.
