College of Fine Arts

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hamid Ibrahim Al-Rashidi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, the college—in cooperation with the Nineveh Health Directorate—held an educational medical seminar titled “Premarital Screenings” today, Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Event Highlights

The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The sessions featured expert insights from:

• Dr. Alaa Abdul-Ghani Younis (Head of the Mother and Child Department).

• Dr. Wijdan Mahdi Mohammed Saleh (Head of Health Promotion).

• Ms. Enas Mohammed Hamid (Nineveh Health Directorate).

• The seminar was moderated by Professor Dr. Mayada Majeed Al-Bajalan.

Objectives

The primary goal of the seminar was to raise awareness and educate young people preparing for marriage on the importance of undergoing necessary medical examinations. Key topics included:

• Preventing the transmission of hereditary and infectious diseases to spouses and children.

• Understanding essential preventative measures and healthcare protocols.

• Addressing public inquiries through interactive discussions that enriched the session.
