The College of Fine Arts at the University of Mosul and the Nineveh Police Directorate are organizing a scientific seminar on the dangers of the spread of unlicensed weapons.
The Continuing Education Unit at our college, in collaboration with the Weapons Control Division of the Nineveh Police Directorate, held a scientific seminar titled “Regulating Weapons and Controlling Them in the Hands of the State” on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with the presence of most of our college staff. In the first session of the seminar, Colonel Ahmed Mufaq Muhammad, the director of the Weapons Control Division, represented the Police Chief of Nineveh. The seminar was technically managed by Ahmed Talal Alawi, the Deputy Director of the Weapons Control Division, and Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Tariq Fadel, the head of the college’s Media Division.
The seminar aimed to review the recent laws related to this sensitive issue and the directives of the Prime Minister regarding the phenomenon of the spread of unlicensed weapons and the threat they pose to community peace and security, especially the weapons prevalent in some provinces.
