Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the Committee for Selecting and Purchasing Scientific Sources, headed by the  Director of the Central Library, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, continues its work at the Erbil International Book Fair with the purpose of providing the shelves of the Central Library with modern and diverse sources of knowledge that contribute to meeting the needs of students, researchers and lecturers and boosting scientific and research capabilities at the university.

These efforts come in the framework of the university presidency’s keenness to develop the library collections, improving  the knowledge services, and supporting the process of higher education and scientific research in a way that keeps pace with scientific and intellectual developments and contributes to building a university environment that stimulates learning and creativity.

This initiative conforms to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly fourth goal: Good education strengthening access to knowledge and scientific resources; ninth goal: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure by supporting knowledge and research infrastructure; and sixteenth  goal: Peace, justice, and strong institutions by enhancing the availability of information and knowledge, supporting sustainable development and consolidating the role of the University of Mosul in serving the academic community.
