Within his efforts to make the university the center of the world to attract support at different levels, the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady met with the French Television Channel M6 Team raising the situation of the University of Mosul at the time of Daesh occupation, after the liberation and its big architectural and scientifical returning in a comparatively short time to play its scientific and cultural role that made it the focus of local, regional and international attention. The French journalists also met with the Directors of the Media and Public Relations Section and the Constructions and Projects Section and the Francophonic Corner Unit Official. After the meeting, the press delegation left for the main location of the Central Library damaged by terrorism. Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the Libraries, University of Mosul, received the press delegation and had a conversation with Bernard de la Villardière, the famous presenter of the TV programme (Exclusive Investigation) providing him a comprehensive picture of the effective role of the Central Library for the city, the university, academics, researchers and students since its establishment till its destruction by ISIS, explaining the amount of loss suffered by all of Mosul citizens. Reference was made to the University President’s vision of the library significance and its role in providing the researchers with various information sources, raising awareness and serving society. Later on, the Secretary-General accompanied the delegation to the alternative location of the Central Library informing them about the constant efforts exerted by its staff with direct and continuous support from the University Presidency and local and international supporters. Noteworthy that Mr. Sayf showed them a video titled (The Library Identity) which summarizes the library’s importance and tragedy and the aspiration of its administration and staff, which goes beyond the dream of returning the library to its former state before the destruction to achieve the hope of bringing it to the level of the international advanced library
